Art Walk Features Lion King Show Masks and the Hakuna Matata Spirit

Hakuna Matata is the theme of the August 5 Art Walk and will feature live music, sips, snacks, art demos, and over 16 galleries — many of which are dedicated to conservation and wildlife protection.  Join us the Community Art Show where you can vote for your favorite piece and savor the creativity of artists of all ages.  Register for FREE and we’ll even throw in complimentary parking!

While the event is FREE we ask that all guests RSVP to help galleries plan and prepare.

Calling all artists from young children to adults.  No matter your medium you are invited to submit your Lion King-themed artwork for a chance to win tickets to see Broadway San Diego’s production of The Lion King at the San Diego Civic Theatre from August 24 to September 11. 

There will be a Hakuna Matata Art Expo in La Jolla Village beginning August 5.  The theme of the artwork should consist of the artist’s representations of The Lion King themes such as African animals or scenery, family, adventure, love, coming of age, betrayal, friendship, etc. Some important things you should know about this art contest include the following.
